Support the sourcing department of a French subsidiary
of a global car manufacturer for two years

Context

In a difficult economic climate, the world’s largest car manufacturer asked all of its subsidiaries by country to reduce their costs, and notably their non-production purchases.

Given these objectives and the simultaneity of different projects, the sourcing management of the French subsidiary turned to Karistem’s teams to help them face this increased activity for the purchasing families, where they lacked in-house expertise.

Assignment

As part of this assignment, Karistem provided the sourcing management with a buyer whose main objectives were to:

  • Comply with the aims of reducing costs defined at European level on several families of non-production purchases
  • Apply existing procurement procedures and suggest areas for improvement
  • Facilitate the supplier panel of corresponding purchasing families

Why Karistem?

Three key factors explaining why Karistem was chosen:

  • An immediate operational know-how in terms of cost optimization, change management and supplier panel management
  • Proven expertise in several families of non-production purchases
  • An ability to deliver tangible and measurable results on time
