Context
The adverse economic climate prompted the company to launch a global transformation programme to improve business performance.
Both Business Unit and Support Function heads were requested to implement the programme within their scope of responsibility.
Mission
Four drivers of change were identified for the HR function:
- One common HR team in all countries (shared by the Business Units)
- One common framework for HR processes and tools worldwide
- Streamlined decision making process for key HR decisions
- Empowered local management
Sponsored by the Chief HR Officer, the programme involved the whole company-wide HR community including:
- Business HR Vice-Presidents to ensure consistency with business needs
- Country HR Directors (HRD) to ensure local implementation
- Process Owners to coordinate and monitor the activities carried out in each HR domain
